Creative Arts Therapy

Creative Arts Therapy uses art-making to help deepen a person’s awareness of their thoughts, feelings, and behaviour. It is a form of creative psychotherapy designed to increase wellbeing, facilitate healing and foster personal growth. Shanti Arts Therapy offers creative interventions such as drawing, painting, collage, sculpture, creative writing, and, sandplay. In a creative arts therapy process the therapist walks alongside the participant as they explore their inner world, without telling the participant what to do. Therapist and client work together to discover new insights and increase a participant’s wellbeing. Anyone, from children to adults, can benefit from arts therapy, and no prior skill or experience with art making is needed.

Counselling

Counselling is a process based on forming a trusting, respectful and non-judgemental professional relationship. You can talk in confidence about matters which are troubling you. Many life experiences can present us with changes and stressors that seem overwhelming and can interfere with day-to-day life and wellbeing. Counselling provides a supportive and safe environment where issues can be clarified, options and ways of navigating these can be explored, and effective strategies can be developed that meet the needs of each client in bringing about positive change. Shanti Arts Therapy counselling draws upon models including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioural Psychology (CBT), and Focusing-Oriented Therapy.
